Hotels

Talking about such an important aspect on a tour, we would like to emphasize that the hotels and lodges we reserve on each tour, have been carefully selected. We base our selection on the following points:

  • Comfort
  • Cleanness
  • Service
  • Location
We look for those singular features that each hotel or lodge can offer to its guests. In fact, most of our customers are happily surprised when they see the standard of our hotels which they didn't expect before arriving to Peru.

Here are some sights that may help you make a better idea of the kind of hotels we use...

Hotel Posada del Emancipador, Paracas, Peru

Hotel El Carmelo, Ica, Peru

Hotel Oro Viejo, Nazca, Peru

Hotel de Turistas, Abancay, Peru

Hotel Casa Andina & Koricancha, Cuzco, Peru

Manu Cloud Forest Lodge (Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge), Cuzco, Peru

Located in the pristine Manu cloud forest on the verdant eastern slopes of the Andes. Situated at an elevation of 5000-feet in the Kosñipata Valley, 165 kilometers by road from Cusco, just 7 to 8 hours by bus, faster with the bikes of course.
DESCRIPTION
Offers the world's best Andean Cock-of-the-Rock experience in a pristine cloud forest reserve. Manu, Peru. The Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge is located in the pristine Manu cloud forest on the verdant eastern slopes of the Andes and is part of the Tropical Nature conservation system. Located at an elevation of 5000 feet (1600 meters) in the cool, mosquito-free Kosñipata Valley close to the wild Cusco Shintuya road, the lodge protects and supports a 12,500-acre private cloud forest reserve. It consists of 12 double-occupancy bungalows with private bath facilities, and a separate complex with a large dining room. A local highland family staffs the lodge, and they also work as rangers, patrolling the private reserve. The incredible 110-mile drive from Cusco to the lodge passes through the finest transect of Andean habitats in South America. The drive typically lasts 8 hours, including stops in Andean towns and opportunities to walk and experience on foot the upper cloud forest habitat. Often groups will take even more time to savor the unforgettable scenery, excellent birding and abundant cloud forest flora.

Food & Meals

As most meals are not included in our programs, you will be free to choose from the many restaurants that you will be able to find in our tours. Most of them offer a large variety of dishes, from our Native and "Criollo" cuisine, to the most representative dishes of the International cuisine.

Breakfasts are included on all our hotels. Box lunches at the desert are included as well as our welcome and farewell dinners.

Peru’s native or traditional cuisine is perhaps one of the tastier and most heterogeneous of the world! It consists on different kinds of meat, vegetables, fruits and grains. Here are some examples:

CEVICHE (Marinated Fish) LOMO SALTADO (Fresh beef sauteed in olive oil, white wine, red onions, tomatoes, french fries & fresh herbs. Served with rice.)
Regarding fish and seafood, “Ceviche” is our most traditional dish consisting of fresh fish and/or seafood marinated with lime and served with red onions, corn and sweet potato. The Peruvian lime is so strong and acid that it cooks the fish in just 15 minutes! Perhaps the origin of this dish comes from the Chinese culture. In the 19th century many Chinese imigrants were brought to Peru to work in the cotton and sugar farmlands. They brought along their culinary culture which merged with the Peruvian or "Criollo" cuisine. One example is this tasty dish based on beef tenderloin, patatoes, tomatoes and onions served along with rice.
ANTICUCHOS (Beef Heart) SECO DE CARNE (Beef Stew)
One of our most traditional beef based dishes is “Anticucho” and “Seco de Carne”. “Anticucho” consists of marinated pieces of beef heart, cooked in a barbecue and served in spades with potatoes.
"CUY" (Guinea Pig)
And our most famous dish (probably you already know what we are talking about), it is the guinea pig or "CUY". (mmmmm, I think I'll go straight to the desserts...).

And NO, Peruvians don't have them as pets!!...
PISCO SOUR CHICHA MORADA
One of our most representative and genuine drink is the “Pisco Sour”. Made with our strong and tasty Pisco (some what like Mexican Tequila), lime juice, sugar, egg white, ice and a bit of cinnamon. Once you try it, you won’t forget it! Another representative non-alcoholic drink is the chicha morada made of purple corn and fruits.

and we cannot forget our wonderful Desserts...
SUSPIRO A LA LIMEÑA PICARONES MAZAMORRA MORADA
(the suspiro a la limeña is a traditional creole dessert made of milk) (pumpkin fritters with syrup) (The mazamorra morada is a jelly-like dessert, purple as one of its main ingredients: the purple corn)
